On Wednesday 29th July, the stunning Balmoral Hotel, Belfast, will become the ultimate stage for culinary excellence as three exceptional chefs go head-to-head in a battle for glory.


This year's finalists are Adam McCourt of Hillyard House Hotel, Osvaldo Pérez Carmona of La Pausa Caffe, and Scott Mallett of Cafe Zulu, each competing for the prestigious title of Ireland's Next Top Chef 2026.


Our esteemed judging panel, featuring Chef Danni Barry, Chef James Southern, and acclaimed food critic Joris Minne, will have the challenging task of deciding who claims the coveted title.


Guests will be treated to an unforgettable evening, beginning with a luxurious drinks reception, followed by a gourmet three-course dinner, complemented by complimentary drinks throughout the night.

Chef Scott Mallett

Cafe Zulu, Co. Antrim


Returning to the competition after narrowly missing out on the title last year, Scott Mallett is back with unfinished business. Determined to go one step further, he brings with him the experience, confidence, and resilience gained from reaching the Ireland's Next Top Chef final.


Scott's cooking is a showcase of refined technique and bold, balanced flavours. His menus demonstrate a flair for elevating familiar ingredients through precision, creativity, and thoughtful presentation, combining contemporary influences with classical foundations. From delicate seafood dishes to expertly cooked meats and polished desserts, every plate reflects his passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Chef Osvaldo Pérez Carmona

Bringing creativity, flair, and bold flavours to every plate, Osvaldo Pérez Carmona is a chef who isn't afraid to push culinary boundaries. Drawing inspiration from his heritage while celebrating the finest Irish produce, his cooking seamlessly blends vibrant Latin American influences with refined modern techniques.


Known for his confident approach in the kitchen, Osvaldo combines meticulous execution with an instinct for balance, creating dishes that are as visually striking as they are full of flavour. His inventive menus showcase a deep understanding of ingredients, from delicately cured seafood to rich, layered sauces and thoughtful accompaniments, all crafted with precision and purpose.
